SCROOGE!!!

Let me first start off by saying how sad I am that I have a sickly daddy right now...and I also am sad I have a lame brother! But what I am NOT sorry for is being the person to take advantage of their sadness and take their tickets to go see SCROOGE, down at U of A. It was sooooo fun and the music was great. Becky was able to come to Tucson last minute! So, we met up with Grandma Dillon and Jim at Pei Wei's and then went to the show. It was so cool because when we came out of the Theatre it was SNOWING!!! A perfect way to get even more excited about Christmas!

New Car!!!

Well, we got a new car on Monday night!!! We just HAD to get rid of that darn cougar...it was a good car to me for a couple years....NOT!!! That thing was costing us an arm and a leg....even a couple toes! :) So, we picked a 2006 Saturn Vue! It is totally loaded with leather seats and all. I have been a total hog with driving it....maybe I should let Nick have a turn too!

We are so lucky and grateful we are able to afford such a nice vehicle for us and our FUTURE family! ( I didn't say near future!!!)

The color isn't silver...it is the color of the font I am using!!! :) SOOOO PRETTY! I LOVE it!

Camara

Well, I really hope Santa brings me a new camara this Christmas! I have been a really good girl and it is at the top of my wish list. I am sorry for the few viewers I have for this sad, pictureless blog. I just really can't stand my camara right now and get so frusturated having to use it!!! We are having a fun family weekend coming up so I'll have to break out the "old" camara for those events!

Today is our 7 month anniversary. Sad to admit, we both forgot! Nick was leaving for work this morning at around 12:45 and we were both like...."Oh....yeah...Happy Anniversary!" We have had so much going on with work and Nick's finals that we let life get the best of us.... well....NO MORE! It opened my eyes a little to how much we are letting the daily life struggles and routines get in the way of fun memories we need to be creating and sharing. So, next month will be A LOT better and more of a memorable celebration as the last 6 have been.

My Nicky gets done with school tonight! He has tried so hard all semester and has done such a great job handling the pressure and stress of work, school, and a new marriage ( I am not the stressful part, promise!). I love my boy!!!

Our Weekend!

Last but not least, SCOTT went to Winter Formal. I am sure he met up with his little lady friend :(...but she is cute so that's okay!!! Scott looks like a handsome little devil!!!

Sister Alexis Kaye Shipley hase been called to ENGLAND!!!! YAHOO....I can't tell you how excited we are for her to get released so we can all go pick her up!!! :) Nick and I are SO happy and excited for Alexis to be starting this new adventure in life! What better of a thing to do than give of yourself for 18 months to our loving Heavenly Father! She is such a great example and we are so proud of her!!!

Well, our weekend first started off with the GIRLS going to Phoenix to shop shop shop! It was A LOT of fun! That new mall in Val Vista is something else...it felt like we were in New York! So, we had fun doing that and then raced back home to go see the Nativity...starring the baby Jesus and LARRY SHIPLEY! Larry did such a GREAT job! He was totally the right person for the part. Who better to play an old man, than an old man! :)

My Wonderful Husband!

As I am sitting here, worn out by my 8 hour shift at work and 45 minute workout, my husband is studying away at school! How does he do it? He has been awake since 1:00 this morning with only a 3 hour nap. He is amazing. He is working really hard in school and I know it is all for US!!!! We haven't put up our tree yet but we will shortly....when all the stress from SCHOOL is over! This was just a shout out to let everyone know my Nicky is the best!!!

We had a baby!!!

Okay, well WE didn't have a baby, but it felt like it! My best girlfriend Camilla had her baby boy on Friday morning! They named him Kayden Ryan Workman. I was lucky enough to go visit her in the hospital and hold little Kayden! He is such a sweet little thing. I have never had someone really close to me have a baby before. It was so amazing to see this little man who had been inside her belly for so long, and then he was just...here! I am so happy for Camilla and Ryan and I know they will be great paretns to our little Kayden! I am also proud to be known as "Aunt Kristen" to this little person. Camilla can't eat chocolate, so I will be the cool "older" person he knows who will always have chocolate for him!!! It was a GREAT experience to be there and hold this precious little spirit.

Ironwood Ridge vs Mt View!!!

Well, this blog was supposed to be a blog that bad mouthed IronWood Ride because they WERE to lose to Mt. View...no can do though!!! They KILLED us and it was so sad for those little highschool boys! It was fun however, to see Unle Kenny and to sit by my parents. Nick was invited back to play in a " Mt. View ALumni basketball game. So, we were at that dinner before the game and got two free tickets into the football game. It was fun goofing around with Ken and Larry! It was so nice outside...we even had to wear our jackets!!!

Halloween 2007

So, for Halloween this year I was a DEVIL, and Nick was........ASLEEP!!! Poor man only was able to get about 3 hours of sleep the night before and was completely out of it! So, we will have to wait for next year to see Nicholas all spooked up! BUT, I dressed up for Halloween, it was only to my work, but I still had a lot of fun. The gals I work with dressed up as biker chicks, and as you can see, they pulled it off quiet well! I am gonna have to say this month of October has been a good one, I have watched " It's the Great Pumkin Charlie Brown" about 15 times while baking and doing other fun things! We, ( especially Nicholas) are so excited about Thanksgiving!
PS- I was really proud of the decorations I put together for my work!!! Look at that big spider dangling from the roof!!! SCARY!! All the little kids were totally scared of it and thought it was real!

What's in that pumpkin??

This past weekend I had my parents and brother over for some good o'l Fall FUN! I have been wanting to try to put a soup of some sort into a hallowed out pumpkin....and I FINALLY did it! Nick and I were thinking about it, and I have been talking about doing this since we started dating...and that was over 2 years ago! So, I made some FAB Chili, the best recipe compliments of Aunt Anna! It was SOOOOO good and we hated to see the leftovers go! OH---I also made homemade rolls....they were good! I am excited to keep trying to bake and think of cute things to keep doing for the holidays! This will be a fun tradition for my new little Smith family!

Check out my Slide Show!

Our fun Weekend!!!

Well, we had a busy and fun filled weekend! On Saturday morning we met my parents at my Grandparents (Shipley's) house to help with some yard work. What was supposed to be a 30 minute clean up turned into a 2 hour event!!! It's okay...we got free bagels out of it,YUM! It was fun goofing off with my mom while the strong guys worked away. As you can see in the pictures, Cookie and Dawn came out to help. After that Nick and I ran some errands and then met the family @ My Big Fat Greek Restaurant to celebrate little Larry's 49th birthday!!! It is a very fun place to eat. The music was pumpin and the service was fun! My dad opened his presents and then off we went to have some cake and ice cream. I made the cake.....it didn't urn out quiet the way it was supposed to....but the frosting and chocolate were GREAT!!!! Robin didn't have any candles....so we had to settle for using the leftover 7 and 8 candles (SAD...who doesn't have spare birthday candles?? :) ) The night ended with the Smith,Bowler,Shipley gals sitting in the spa and talking! It was a very fun weekend and we were so glad we were able to celebrate Larry's birthday with him!!! Can't wait till the 50th, now THAT my friends, will be something to celebrate!:)

YIKES

Yikes would be the right word to use! I had to bake and frost my cake tonight, and it is NOT as easy as it looks. I must have had my cake too moist before I frosted it and it was a disaster!!! There were crumbs everywhere. I almost didn't go to my class because I was so embarrassed! But, I decided to go and I tried to decorate it....it was okay. I am definitely glad I am taking this class!!!

The Future Princess Palace!!!

PRINCESS PEYTON

Nick and I went to our nieces 3rd birthday party. It was so funny to watch little Peyton open up her presents and be soooooo excited! Nick and I got her a purple feathered boa, fairy skirt ( as seen in picture), magic wand, stick on earrings and a "Fancy Nancy" book. The book was all glittery and girly on the outside....perfect for a PRINCESS!!! Watching Peyton made me think of my fellow Princess Rachel and how fun we would have!!! I think we should do another princess palace at Grandpa's birthday party....what does everyone think??

PRINCESS PALACE FOREVER...ROXY CLUB FOREVER!!!!

Love-Princess K
PS---the little girl stuffing her beautiful face is Peyton's younger sister, Tatum, who could NT wake for a fork....she stuffed her face in RIGHT when she got her peice!!! SO FUNNY!!!

GOOOOO D-Backs!

Nick and I made a quick trip up to Phoenix to go to a Diamondbacks game, which was SO fun! First we did a session at the Mesa Temple. It is such a pretty and calming place to be. The weather wasn't too bad actually. It was really overcast! So then after the Temple we were going to go to my favorite place to shop...LAST CHANCE ( Those Shipley girls got me hooked on that!), but we decided to go to the game. GOOD thing we didn't stop, because the game we thought started at 7:40 actually started at 6:40. We got there around 7:00 so it wasn't a big deal. The game was awesome. It was my ( Kristen) first Diamond backs baseball game and they WON. Nick has been to 15 games and has NEVER seen them win...guess I am a lucky charm or something. :) After the game they opened up the roof and had an amazing firwork show. It must have lasted 15 minutes!

It as so fun to leave Tucson and get away for that little bit!

GOOOO DiamondBacks!!!

Another Fun Time with Trey!!!

We were able to spend some more time with Trey this weekend. Nick took him to the mall and got him a new Phoenix Suns jersey ( he looks so cute!), and a new Phoenix Suns hat! He is going to a birthday party tonight and is gonna look stylin! They got home to pick me up and we decided to go to dinner at Macayos! We had a lot of fun...especially when we were serenaded by our friend Jose. He came up to us and asked if we wanted to make a request for a song....the only spanish song I could think of was " La Bumba". So he sang the song and we gave him a buck. Generous I thought for 20 seconds of song! Then he came back and Nick requested another song and he told us he would only do it for $5.00!!! Yeah right!!! We said sorry to Jose and sent hm on his way! The nerve! :) The night ended with Nick and Trey playing computer games....( I still don't understand the thrill of it all). So, another fun night with Trey!
